Recipe
Lavender London Fog
Earl Grey, steamed milk, a spoon of lavender syrup.
Placeholder · Recipe hero Mug of pale tea latte on a workbench, a little foam on top, a dried lavender sprig alongside, jar of LGT lavender syrup in frame. Soft morning light.
Makes one cup. Ten minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 bag Earl Grey tea, or 1 tsp loose leaf
- 3/4 cup hot water, just off the boil
- 1/2 cup milk or oat milk
- 1 tbsp English lavender simple syrup
Steps
- Steep the tea in the hot water for four to five minutes. You want it strong, since the milk will soften it.
- Warm the milk in a small pan or the microwave. Froth it with a whisk if you want foam.
- Pour the lavender syrup into the cup, add the tea, then the warm milk.
- Stir once and taste. The bergamot in the Earl Grey and the lavender are the whole idea.
Notes
On the milk
Whole milk is richest. Oat milk froths well and keeps it dairy-free. Either works.
Iced version
Steep the tea, stir in the syrup, cool it, then pour over ice and cold milk.
