El Dorado Hills, California
Garden design
A garden design starts with what's already there. The shade, the slope, what the soil does after rain, the mature bush worth keeping. We design beds and plantings that work together the way ours do at home: many varieties side by side, each one paying its way.
Current work: the HART Student Housing Village
Our current engagement is with HART of Folsom, a native planting design for six homes on the Oak Hills Church campus. Foothill conditions set every choice: hot dry summers, real fire risk, water worth saving. The planting keeps the courtyard green and quiet where people live and carries native color and habitat out toward the edges. The full design is public, plant palette and all.
How it works
We walk the ground first. Sun and shade through the day, drainage, what's already growing and worth keeping. The plan that comes back names every plant, where it goes, and why it earns the spot. Private design work happens alongside, as the calendar allows.
Where we work
Anywhere in California. In the foothills around El Dorado Hills we walk the site ourselves. Farther out, we design remotely from your photos, your measurements, and a conversation about how the ground behaves.
