Oregano Tincture
Oregano from the garden, steeped four weeks in grain alcohol.
$25.00
Oregano cut from the garden and steeped four weeks in grain alcohol. Sharp, peppery, and warm, the most pungent of the three. Drops, not pours.
Oregano has a long folk history as a kitchen-cabinet standby, traditionally taken by the drop through the colder months of the year.
It works in food first: a few drops in a vinaigrette, stirred into tomato sauce or a pot of beans, or whisked into a marinade for lamb or chicken.
How we use it
What's in it
Grain alcohol. Oregano, cut from the garden. Nothing else.
Care and keeping
Store out of direct sun and shake before use. An alcohol tincture keeps a long time; the flavor is brightest in the first year.
