Golden Privet (Ligustrum × vicaryi)

Golden privet earns its spot on color alone. The yellow-green foliage holds its glow through most of the year, so the warmth in the border does not wait on bloom time. Use it as a hedge, a screen, or a single bright accent.

Plant in full sun. That is where the color runs hottest. It takes a wide range of soils and, once rooted in, gets by on little water. Shear it formal or let it grow loose.
